G8学生サミット2010－参加者募集

2010年5月1日から3日まで、カナダ、アルバータ州バンフにて開催されるG8学
生サミットに本学から代表を1名派遣することになり、その候補者を公募します。
本サミットは、カナダのブリティッシュ・コロンビア大学とアルバータ大学の共
催により開催されるG8大学サミット（5月20日～22日）の一環として開催されるも
のです。G8大学サミットは、2008年東京大学をはじめとする日本の大学有志によ
り創設され、同年7月、札幌において第1回会合を開催しました。第3回となる今年
の会議では、Sustainabilityについて議論を行い、7月に開催されるG8サミット
（先進国首脳会議）に大学としての提言を行います。
G8学生サミットでは、同じくSustainabilityという全体テーマのもと、
Sustainable Health、Sustainable Energyの2つの分野で議論を行い、その結果は
3週間後に開かれるG8大学サミットで報告されます。

資格
・   2010年5月時点に東京大学3、4年、大学院修士課程、あるいは博士課程に在籍
していること。
・  国籍、専攻分野は問わず。留学生も可。

選考過程
・  2010年2月12日：応募締め切り。以下の応募書類をe-mail添付にて提出。
  経歴書（CV）（英文Word・書式任意）
  論文（英文Word、あわせて2ページ以内、下記項目を含めること）
  志望動機
  上記2分野の中から一つを選び、本サミットでどのように貢献し、何を学びたいかについての記述
  英語力を証明できるもの（英語の能力試験成績証明書等）
・  2010年2月15日～16日：1次選考（書類審査）
・  2010年2月16日：1次選考合格者への通知
・  2010年2月17～19日：2次選考（面接）。
・  2010年2月22日：最終決定。本人通知。

備考
・  参加に関わる費用は、カナダ側主催校ならびに東京大学が全額負担します。
・  本学生サミットには、G8のみならずG20各国から30～35名の学生が参加予定です。

　　　　　　The G8 University Students Summit 2010
　　　Invitation to Apply to be the Student Representative

The G8 Students Summit will be held from May 1-3, 2010 in Banff,
Alberta, to which the University of Tokyo has decided to send a
representative. Accordingly, we hereby invite qualified students to
apply for the position.
The G8 Students Summit is part of the G8 University Summit, which will
be held from May 20-22, 2010 in Vancouver, Canada under the sponsorship
of the University of British Columbia and Alberta University. The G8
University Summit was founded by the University of Tokyo and a few
leading Japanese universities in 2008 and held its first meeting in
Sapporo in July, 2008. The 2010 meeting, third in series, will focus on
issues related to Sustainability and prepare a recommendation to the G8
Leaders Summit held in July, 2010.
The Students Summit, also under the main theme of Sustainability, will
discuss the subthemes of sustainable energy and sustainable health, the
results of which will be presented to the participants of the G8
University Summit.

Qualifications
・  As of May, 2010, enrolled in the University of Tokyo’s upper
undergraduate (3rd and 4th grades) up to the Doctoral Program.
・  Any nationality: Students with foreign nationality included.

Selection Process
・  By February 12, 2010: Submit an application via E-mail including the
following:
  CV (English, free format)
  Essay (English, 2 pages in total): Select one subtheme from the two
described above and state how you will contribute to and learn from the
discussion
  A certificate to prove your English proficiency (e.g., test scores)
・  February 15-16, 2010: Pre-selection
・  February 16, 2010: Notice to the pre-selected
・  February 17-19: Final selection (Interview)
・  February 22, 2010: Final decision and notice to the winner

Note:
・  Canadian organizers and the University of Tokyo will provide the
lodging accommodations and the round-trip transportation.
・  Between 30 and 35 students from the G8 countries and the wider G20
group are anticipated to be in attendance.
